My friend Tara (she's from Portland -- she "put's birds on things!") is a total innovator. A pioneer in the world of crafts you might say. You may remember her, I mentioned her a few posts back. I say she's a pioneer inasmuch as crafting and the like because she not only does these wonderful felt fruit bowls, soft friends made from cashmere and woolie art pieces...but she also has an eye for the truly unique in other peoples crafts.
This year, for my birthday, she sent me a card made from wood. That's right...wood. The wood was extraordinary sure. It's paper thin with a kind grain and light appearance to it. But in addition to it being wood there is also a sweet "Party Owl" illustrated on it. And, bonus the card is made from "sustainable, harvested wood."
So, loving uncharted territory as I do (I'm the only one with a wedding/lifestyle blog in the world, right?)...well something new (hm...perhaps, not that new) and different, anyway, I decided to look up this little "Party Owl!"

While working together at a design firm and art gallery, graphic designers Jennifer Tatham and Alan Henderson daydreamed about starting their own stationery company.
