They took us on a casual, sweet bicycle tour of the tastings nears their house and then went to several tastings and a tour in town at the square! But not without first visiting the grounds of Sebastiani and having lunch with a bright rose´ and delicious sandwiches from the Sonoma Market.
I think Hopmonk would be a great place for a rehearsal dinner. Look how the bulb lights create such an atmosphere! So charming, casual and comfortable! Plus, the food is great and the music...the best!
I made a basket of goodies for our friends which included marinated chevre, fresh vine grapes, figs from our tree, black walnuts picked in the morning and rosemary and black pepper biscuits. Here is the recipe for the biscuits:
Ingredients:
2 Cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary
1/4 cup shortening or margarine
1 cup buttermilk
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 425. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add shortening, you know, Crisco (don't balk at the trans-fats. For goodness sake you won't mow down the whole batch...!) and buttermilk and gently knead until mixed into a good dough. Roll out onto lightly floured surface and cut into biscuits using round cookie cutter. Bake for between 7 and 10 minutes.
This basket would make a great welcome treat for your out of town guests who have travelled to join you at your wedding celebration! |

Janne at Hawkes! |
Hawkes would be a fantastic place for a small bachelorette! Pretty, great decor and paintings but most important of all, outstanding wine! |
