The Lab Event - Wow!

Hello my lovely readers! This is the longest I have gone without a new post since I began the site. Today is already Wednesday - and I'm so sorry but I am not going to do real weddings. Instead I want to share the event I went to on the 14th of January - The Lab: Experience + Inspire + Design.

It was organized by Erin Taylor from Bustle Events / Heritage&Craft, Allison Silber from Engaged and Inspired and Yazmin Zialcita Ali from Floral Theory! The sponsors of the event were the creme de la creme of west coast wedding delights! And the vendors of the same ilk.

I cannot tell you how sensational this fete was! Words alone do not suffice. In fact, even with photos, it simply isn't enough to express the feeling. It was a very clever, very charming night with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Inviting as in people were genuinely happy to see you there. And let's face it, you never know if the caliber of talents may run into their ego's too. But no - everyone was warm and welcoming - they just wanted everyone to live it up and enjoy. And enjoy, we did! Think the best wedding you've been a guest at, complete with outstanding DIY details, fanciful paper goods which covered full wedding suites, wedding cake that tasted as good as it looked, table designs including flower decor to knock your socks off, several brides and bridesmaids with the hottest couture available and a wedding DJ that played Prince and MGMT! I died!

The pictures I'll share here simply do not do the event justice and I wish there was another this Saturday, too!

Alas, I'll have to wait for another event these ladies put on. They are uber talented and lovely to boot.

In a rough order, we sampled Elaine Bell Catering's Prociutto Wrapped Shrimp that was skewered with a pipette of Sambuca sauce. Delish. I have a photo but it just doesn't cover the taste. So I didi not include it here.
Following Elaine Bell Catering, we cruised to the first inspiration board to come to life. Toasted Marshmallow from the readers of Snippet and Ink - Design: Bustle Events, Floral: Soul Flower, Cake: Sweet on Cake, Renatls: Hartmann Studios, Vintage Rentals: Heritage and Craft, Stationery: Hello! Lucky.

It was gorgeous! The lighting, the wee cakes in the corner and the gauzy backdrop, the cleverly strung marshmallows and the soft flowers contrasted against the bright overhead dining light.

Traveling on we went to the Coral and Berries inspiration from the readers of The Perfect Palette. It was conceptualized by A Savvy Event (if you follow the link they have more pictures there of their vignette), Cake: Batter Bakery, Floral: Laura Miller Designs, Rentals: Hartmann Studios, Vintage Rentals: Milkglass Vintage Rentals, Stationery: Hello! Lucky.

There were so many beautiful things. So many clever, interesting things. There were color palette boards that were brought to life by actual floral concepts...and a candy bar interspersed with cloche's covering tiny woodsy items.

And...A Grooms Lounge - Genius!

Oh! Did I mention a fashion show?

I wish I had filmed the entire thing. But I just didn't think of it until the finale. Still I think it's a good taste of the freshness of The Lab.

And the other inspiration boards...Chosen by the readers of Style Unveiled was Imported Splendor. Gorge! Brought to life by Event Styling: Kate Miller Events, Cake: Shannie Cakes, Floral: Sharla Flock Designs, Rentals: Hartmann Studio, Lighting: Impact Lighting and Production, Stationery: Aerialist Press, Menu Chargers: Luxe Cuts

Kate's awesome tights and footwear!

Young Love was the final Inspiration Board brought to life. I can't choose a favorite vignette because each and every showcase was divinely inspired and therefore stunningly executed. However, if I were to get married again, this is the one I would choose...for several reasons...I love the streamers acting as a wall, I love the bookshelves with the lemonade, I love love love the cupcake favor boxes (by the way, Fawn and Fox Bakehouse make the BEST cupcakes I have ever had!) and the writing on the wall (as it were) was so clever and great -- The Pixies --my goodness, they read my mind!! But the flowers - oh the flowers! Peonies, sweet peas, ranunculus...when I think of rolling in a field of blooms, these fluffy flowers, these pretty petals are the ones I dream of! Young Love was designed by Esla Designs, Floral: Studio Choo, Cake: Fox and Fawn Bakehouse, Rentals: Hartmann Studios, Vintage Rentals: Heritage and Craft, Stationery and Design Detail (inside the favor box - genius): Aerialist Press and Menu Chargers: Luxecuts.

The Ladies from Studio Choo - The Flowers!

This event just had so much awesome! A make up studio by The Makeup Dolls, Boutique DJ's, Catering from The Girl and the Fig (we went for dinner after the event), Elaine Bell and Union Street Caterers (The folks we used for our wedding - people still ask about the food - it was four years ago!) Following are photos of the venue - Cline Cellars, the DJ, the Makeup Dolls, the wine pourers and other wee sundries from this magnificent event.

With Erin and the bride, Lakota. Erin is one of the innovators of The Lab. She has three business and blogs regularly. Check her out at The Pocket Stylist, too.

Yazmin from Floral Theory and one of the collaborator of The Lab.
The catering manager for Union Street Catering - I need to find her card and I'll have to call it quits now. Many apologies to her. She's lovely and I tell you their food is delectable.

Lovespun Wedding Films - Jessica and her husband are a team and she is about the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. Bonus, her films are sensational!
