Real Wedding Wednesday - Grand Island Mansion Style

This wedding in July 2011 between Cat and Rob was held at the historic Grand Island Mansion. What a stunner! The ceremony and reception were both art the mansion. The things that made this wedding so unique is the clear feeling of love between the couple at this sensational venue.

Following are the questions I asked her and in italics are her answers.
What was your favorite part of planning? Spending time together and thinking about starting our new life together.

What was the most challenging part of planning? Keeping track of all of the details! We got engaged in March and married in August, so there was a lot to do!

What kind of feeling did you originally set out to convey to your audience, friends, family? Romantic, natural, and intimate. We wanted our guests to feel relaxed and at ease; it was important to us to have a stress free day that we enjoyed together with our family and friends.

What would you have changed if you could? More time! It seemed like our wedding flew by. But you know what they say, "time flies when you're having fun"

What advice would you give to other brides to be? Relax and enjoy yourself. Your love for one another is the most important thing you are celebrating on your special day.

Who was your photographer? Rob Robertson of Robert Cristie Photography

What were your favors? Personalized chocolate bars and kisses; personalized wildflower seed bookmarks.
Did you have a theme? Romantic lovebirds

What design house was your gown from (stunning, btw!) Paloma Blanca

Who did your hair and make-up/flowers etc. Hair and makeup by Jenifer Haupt; Flowers by La Martine'

What, if anything, would you like to tell your readers- any snippets or tidbits... (90% brides to be and 10% wedding junkies)? Add a personal touch to your wedding - for example, we asked my uncle to marry us, which made the ceremony very personal.  And we asked my mother to play a flute solo during the ceremony; that is another memory we will always cherish.
