Dresses, Dresses, Dresses!

The greatest things about being a girl are dresses!

Dress #1is a dress from the late 19th Century. Picture Phantom of the Opera or Jane Eyre...that era respectively. And somehow this never goes out of style. It is sumptuous in it's resplendency of pink silk taffeta, hand sewn lace, box pleat waist,  net overlay and double bustle cascade complete with silk peonies and roses. I'd love to wear this for a day. Picture it in white with a whisper of pink with the overlay perhaps. You could, if you are that sort of girl, take this to an atelier and have it emulated. I wish I was that girl...

Dresses pictured in photo #2 from Old Rags are 1950's formal dresses. They are so soft and lovely. The colors are perfect for a soft garden wedding. Caution: your bridesmaids might steal the show! Again, in order to create these gowns you'd have to know a very good couturier and be the kind of bride who is motivated enough to get this customization on track!

The baby blue dress below is from Etsy! A shop called Flour Clothing has vintage clothing etcetera. This dress is from the same era as the dresses pictured above. Its a 1950's cupcake dress. On the Flour Clothing Etsy site, it is listed as being a "Peggy Sue Party Dress." If you are sure what your palette might be if you chose a dress like this consider the floating tones from Design Seeds!

If I were to do it all again, I would wan the dress below. In fact, I would want the entire feeling of the photo below. My hair with the starbursts, the long curled coif and that dress, oh that dress...
